I've been cycleing my tank for about 15 days already and i have a 10 gallon, the first 7 days the nitrite read 0ppm and on the 7th day it spiked so i added less drops in but the nitrite kept getting higher and higher and now it's been about 8 days since it first spiked and the every thing reads the same
ph: 7.2ppm
ammonia:4ppm
nitrite:5ppm
and not the water had evaporated more and it's getting a bit cloudy and i';m not sure what to do! some one give me some advice.
should i keep waiting?
:dunno:

When you see nitrite, you should add half the daily dose you were adding before instead of the full dose. You can top the tank off to account for evaporation. Other than that, wait awhile longer, you are still well within the range of normal. Don't worry about the cloudiness, that's also normal and should clear on its own as the cycle establishes.

Naw, there are no fish in there, and that would just be diluting the stuff that the bacterial colonies are feeding on. Normally, yes, you wouldn't want to just add dechlorinated tap water to account for evaporation (you could top off with distilled water with no worries though), but it will fine now.
