hey i dont know about you but i have quite alot of furry animals and i just cant keep the hair away from my tanks, its the most annoying thing :grr:

any of you have this trouble?

Not since I have lids on all of them ;)

yes i ihave lids on all of them but sumhow still hairs get in :/

I have 3 cats (2 long haired) and a large GSD and from time to time the odd hair gets in but I do have glass covers and a BIG lid/top. Is the tank covered?

I have a dog and the occasional hair gets in, but not to the extent that I would be worried. It's part of having a hairy pet. Hair gets everywhere! I have lids on my tanks, doesn't change a thing.

I get hair in my tanks that are in the basement and my animals are never near them! I don't have a cat or a dog to try to mess with my tanks either, its a guinea pig! LOL! Its sometimes annoying to find little hairs floating in the tank though. I had to pull a guinea pig hair out of the mouth of one of my goodeids! lol

check your not doing it yourself - make sure they are not on your hands when you are doing tank maintenance/feeding and the like.

Oh, that drives me crazy too. My tanks are covered and it still gets in there... :/ What's even worse though is when my own hair gets in... ain't nothing like a long reddish-brown hair stuck to a plant floating with the current... grossness, lol.

We have two dogs and I find the only time hair gets in the tank is when I give the dogs a cuddle and then go near the tank. Run a CLEAN, non-chemical paper towel over the surface of the water, the hair sticks to it. :)

I have two dogs and their hair gets everywhere - including my tanks. Think because they are always near the tank and their hair floats around in the air (the only way to explain how I end up with dog hair in the bath!) that it the odd one must get into the tank when the lid is opened for feeding etc.

I don't really understand it. My cat always snoozes on the lids (nice and warm from the lights) and I never get any cat hair in my tanks (even though there's always loads on the lids!) :dunno:

It probably depends on the breed of cat/dog and what season it is in relation to shedding.

Although my cavs seem to be constantly shedding. :p
