Hey guys, i got a male swordtail in my tank with my 2 other female swordtails hu r both pregnant and he seems to be stressin them and chasing them out plus he's an aggressive large fish so he could eat any babies that aren't captured. I want to move him into my other tank while the girls are pregnant and when i want to have more babies. Will it be okay to move him into my other tank if he has been moved there before and also how would i do this? in the past i have put him into a glass with half water from his own tank and half of the downstairs tank? any suggestions?

i may be wrong but wouldn't it work like, when you buy from a FS i mean float the bag and put him in without the other water, that is what i'd do.

aslo you could maybe add another few females

hope this helps

i use a sandwhich bag when im transferring fish between tanks, tend to rinse it first then basically do what they do in fish shops, and then acclimatise themto their new tank. if ou do it that way i cant see any problem with moving him into another tank so long as its fully cycled etc.
