hey all. ok basically i got a tank set up, tropiquarium 68, so its decent size, and ive added some new fish to the community includind a red fin shark.

he was ok for first few days but now he seems to be chasing off my silver shark which is twice the size, my tetras and my swordtail. most of the fish just cower up by the filter now or in a corner somewhere. because of this ive put him in solitary confinement in a breeding house thing in the same tank so he cant attack them.

now, i have a small spare tank, is this the best solution to set that one up too or can i do something else?

if i do set this second tank up, what will i be able to put in with this red fin shark as i dont really wanna set a tank up up just for this 1 fish.

thanks for your help

How many gallons is the tank, has the tank cycled.
And how big is the other tank you might put the shark in.

its 72 litre, dunno what that is in galons. is cycled just another term for establishing? if so yea i left the tank set up for 3 weeks, throwin food in now n agen to let it go through the filter n that. no fish have died so far, just this shark is really aggressive.

tank im gonna be putting him into is about a 15 litre smallish thing. ive ordered pump n heater n filter. just wondering what other fish would be ok with the shark. he seemed to get on with my catfish n khuli loach. anythin else like top feeder or middle that i could add? cheers for help

Sorry that tank is way to small for sharks, the silver shark are bala sharks and they are shoaling fish and have to be kept in groups to be happy, they need large tanks of 90 gal.
And no wonder the red tailed shark is being nasty as he needs he own space and they are aggressive, he needs a tank of 40 gal.
I would rehome them or see if the lfs will take them back.

The bala shark definitely needs a much bigger tank. The red tail might be okay in a 72 litre (about 20 gallons?) if it was by itself.
