Angelfish In A 240 Litre Tank

Personally, I wouldnt advise buying a single angel unless someone has a single individual too aggressive with other angels. They are so SO much happier in pairs or groups, they are such a social species. I wouldnt keep an angel alone any more than I would keep a tetra on its own,

Sorry to bust in on your thread Ukchris, but I'm learning from this also!

Can someone clarify for me, is it possible to keep a group of angels 4-6 happily? Is it one of those things where you may or may not have problems?

It's not impossible, but you'll need a big tank and some patience finding the right mix. They basically will get territorial and chase off others they see as a threat to them. I had about 4-5 a long, long time ago but you're better off starting with a pair to see how you go. Even then you might need to get 4-6 as Techen says, wait until a pair forms and then return the others.

If you have the time, effort and patience to spare then you may be ok.

What if you had a reaaally long tank, like 7-8ft? I'm assuming they would work something like GBR's where they claim a portion of the tank.
I'm not planning on doing it, just gaining some knowledge! I love the look of a group of Angels though, it's a shame they won't work in the long run.

If you had a reaaally long tank of that size I's say you'd have more success with keeping Angels in greater numbers. They'd have plenty of space to keep to themselves.
