Hi all,
I currently have a 10 gallon tropical tank set up in my room. I have started growing an interest in angelfish, but I read that they require rather large tanks. I also have 2 Serpae Tetra and 2 Platies. Would it be advisable to add an angelfish to the tank? I love angelfish dearly but I'm afraid I currently do not have room for a 30 of 50 gallon just yet :( Thanks everyone!

No, there's no way you can put an angel in a 10g, I'm afraid!

Hi no sorry a 10 gallon tank is no home for an Angelfish, maybe wait for the time to get a 30 gallon - ideally bigger though.

Also with just 2 Serpae Tetras they can get a little nippy in low numbers like that and are probably not the best choice of Tetras to go with your Platies to be fair.

Yikes! If I added one or two to allow for schooling, would that be advisable? I did research and it said that Tetras and Platies are compatible species! So far, all of them have been very friendly and I have seen no hostile interaction, but thank you for the heads up - I will certainly keep an eye on this!

Most tetra species are totally passive and non problematic but some are quite nippy and nip other fishes fins - Also Serpaes are quite a larger species of tetra, in a 10 gallon I would go for a smaller species like Neon or Rummy Nose - or even smaller like Ember or Green Neon Tetras. That way you could get a larger school and would have quite a passive tank.
