Hi guys sorry about not replying earlier, I had to go out last night! anyway, All my water params are good now! But I did go on Holiday for 2 1/2 weeks and left my mum to look after it! When I got back (after the first discus had died) the Amonia was a little high (not good for discus) 
But I've been back for 2 weeks now and Ive got my water back to being just about perfect!
Yes I do water changes usually 2 per week of about 10 - 20%. This has increased since I got back from Hols due to the problems! Oh and as my sig says its a 300l tank.
