Hi, I have been trying to breed my 2 angelfish for the past 3 weeks but as soon as the eggs are laid, the male eats them, even as they are coming out. Is this a sign of distress or something else?

Regards,
James

No they need a few times before they get it right soon as they no what there doing ur will have alot of little angels ... do u have any tank mates?

I have a female that did the same thing when younger. Practice helps, as well as putting the pair in their own tank. If they feel the eggs are threatened too much, they will eat them before any other fish get to. A meal is a meal to fish.

No tank mates.

Thanks for the information, i can't wait to have baby angels :D

Not being funny but... I do have a cat who tends to stare at the angels a lot, could this be causing them to eat their young?
