i recently bought 2 angelfish and one of them is hiding in the plants and laying on his side. I used the net to try see if it was still alive and it swam away but slowly. the other one is swimming slowly but seems to be ok. they are both about quarter sized and i added them to the tank 2 hours ago. the tank has had other fish in it for about two weeks. what could be wrong

What size of tank and what other fish are there?

What do you have for ammonia , nitrite, nitrate and ph?

Hpw recent is recent?

it is a ten gallon tank, recent as in this afternoon around 4:00 central, only neighbor is a small cardinal tetra and a 2 inch gold gourami. the ph and all that jazz is fine, i do weekly water changes. all of my fish have been fine except the angel

hey what are your water stats (ph, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels), water temp, size aquarium, and how many other fish are already in the tank? Did you acclimate the angels or did you just add them in?

sorry just seen all that stuff don't know why i did not see it before... but what about the other stuff i asked...

angel fish need to be in a way bigger tank. i think you should test your water because its probly the ammonia in your tank. either that or they have a swimbladder problem

Angels need a minimum of 10 gallons per fish, and a minimum water depth of 16". A 20 high wpuld be the minimum for two, consider a 29 if you want to add the rest of the fish.

huh... i bumped the temp up to 79 and now he's swimming around up right happily.... i guess he was cold or something haha

Maybe take the temp up another notch then as they dont like the cold that much. Mine are at 82
