Angel fishys

Risky with the RTBS, I am sure that mine would chase an Angel as he doesn't like anything fancy.

I don't see any problem with the Black Calvus as they are not particularly agressive.

No probs with the BN plec, they would rarely come into contact with each other.

Aha  another of these up to experience and seperate fish temperament topics   (like about 75% of anything to do with red tails). Red tail sharks come in three three types from my experience and what I've red on these forums

1> Murdering little psycho's
2> Strongly Territorial Fish, peacful otherwise
3> Somewhere inbetween

When we got our first tank (a 20gallon high) it had a full grown red tail, a large angel and 4" bristlenose. The shark and the angel were fine together, while the bristlenose lived mainly on a piece of driftwood that the shark called the center of his territory so no problem there either. In my current main tank (40gallon) I have 7 angels (6 small <1"body), 1 large bristlenose, and 2 Red tail (1 large 1 small). If there's any problems it the rams being nasty to the angels and the large red tail being territorial to the rams  . Redtails can have a range of temprements, but have a better chance of settling down if given a hollow log or similar to "rule" over (just be prepard that than can get very territorial over there log/cave. Hope this helps

You missed one though with Red Tail Black sharks, they can, and are RARELY peaceful, but it is possible to get a peaceful RTB shark...

I have three angels in with my red tail black shark and if anything he keep far away from them, i feared that when i got him he would argue with my double black velvet angel (angus) but he gets along just fine... And he gets on with Ice-cream too (My Veiltail angel), it all a matter of luck, proivding there is a suitable layout for all your spieces i sure it should be fine, plenty of hiding places and plants for the red tail black shark, and tall plants for the angels since they like going in and out of the leave and that

;)

Katchan you had two red tail black sharks together??? And didnt they try to kill one another and stuff?

No Zenn I didnt have 2 Red tails together, I do :p CURRENTLY :p have 2 red tails together. They both have their own hollow logs, one fake about 1.5" diameter the other driftwood about 1' long, 1' high and L shaped. As long as no one (except Bristlenoses) comes within these limits no probs :p otherwise they just get chased away.

As for a fully peaceable red tail I havnt seen one yet (note the yet).
