angel fish

I got 2 angel fish yesterday. one died and the other was fine. ir eturned it and got another. Now the original angel that was fine is going to die soon. is there a reason for this? Can I do anything. And are angels naturally black. my dad was thinking they were not so I was wondering if they were enhanced or interbred or something

well it just died. Im thinking the other one will die soon also and am probably not going to get any more angel fish. What other fish do you think I should get? I have a 29 gallon. 2 bala sharks (Probably goign to get rid of in a month) bamboo shirmp, crab. 2 blue gouramis, a beta and clown loach.

how did you introduce the fish into the tank? and yes, i do believe angels come in black:

yes angels do come in black, have you checked the ph balance and temp because angels are so fussy, i would also add some anti internal bacteria medicine to the tank just to be on the safe side with your other fish, the angels could have been infected in the shop, give it a few weeks then try again but from a different shop

Well I got 2 angel fish from pet smart. Brough them home and the next day one died. Then I got another and the next day the original one died. My crab had a FEAST! Anways, I let them float in the water for half an hour or so then pujt them in. My temerature is always at 80, and PH is normal. I am going to test it soon.

You should add little amounts of tank water into the bag when you are floating the fish so they have a chance to get used to the ph levels and so on.

Sorry to hear about what has happened

What are you aprameters? How are the other fish looking? Perhaps next time you are going to add fish do a water change just before so things are nice and fresh.

to be honest with you i dont buy from there anymore because i have had loads of fish that have died on me, they ere sick of seeing me because the fish are guaranteed, nxt time you buy have a good look in the tank that you want to buy from if there are dead fish or fish that look ill then go elswhere

Well so far pet smart has been really good. No complaints. But this is the first time I have had a problem.

angelfish are delicate you need to know for sure that you have the proper PH as well as NO ammonia NO nitrites and low nitrates.

You are 100 % Right, my first fish were from pets at home (petsmart) and all the time they kept dieing, i had like 6 neons die from them, 1 sucking loach, a platty. So we decided to go to a proper place and they founded a problem, I think it might of been neon tetra diesese and they gave me some medicine and I treated my tank with the medicine protozine. Anyway from my experiance I would never buy which off them again.
