hi, i was given a tank and 1 angel fish and a cat fish that lived together for years, all of a sudden the angel picked on tha cat fish and killed it. bought another angel which is a bit smaller and the bigger angel was bullying that one too, kept it in a clear bucket in the tank for a few weeks and they got on fine then, for about a month and all of a sudden now the biggr angel is bullying the smallest one. not sure what to do as the big angel is constantly bullying the other one and they fighting. not sure what sex they are if it has anything to do with it but cant understand how they were fine for a month and now they are not? any suggestions??? thanks

Its not recommended that angels are kept in pairs because if angels dont 'pair off' they will be aggressive towards each other as you are experiencing. Its very hard to get angels to pair off when one is added to a tank that already houses another one.

Your best bet would be to rehome the new angel fish

thanks andy, but they paired off for that month and now they are not, the smallest one keeps going up to the bigger one but it just chases it arong the tank, nipping it

If aggression has appeared in the tank however long they have been together, the only real option is to rehome one of them before one ends up killing the other
