Hello new to keeping angel fish I ordered the koi variety and I noticed in there head area some have very red spots almost look like a collection of blood. Is this normal or not?

The red cheeks are what makes them a KOI and not just a Goldmarble. They have two stripeless genes which makes their gill plates transparent until they grow older. It is called "Blushing". A Goldmarble angel will be the same color only without the transparent gill plates.
