Hi I have a juwel lido 120 with standard t5 lighting and twin aquaray leds. Could I have an anemone?

How big will the anemone you are planing to purchase get? I don't know much about marine but the size of it will help other members answer your question. Hope it helps. :good:

Havnt really looked into it yet, I have corals already and have been looking at peoples jornals and really like the anemones. Hoping someone can give me some advice on here. Thanks

Hi Ken, first off how established is your tank?

Some nems can be kept under your lights which some people may be able to suggest, personally I have only ever kept nems under halides.

Tank needs to at least eight months old first - not sure how much light the aquarays give out, but its possible to keep a bubble tip under x 4 t5s, as I do - you could give it a try and be ready to buy supplementry lights, feeding weekly also helps :good:

ps most other nems require a lot more light

My tank is about 2years old, what nem would be best for me? Something that doesn't get to big

If you want a Nem that looks like a Nem (i know that sounds daft, but there are those new nems, who dont need as much light!!) I would go for a bubble tip every time :good:

ps they can grow to the size of a dinner plate, so if you have lots of corals he will probably kill some of them! I did keep one in a 126L tank, but my nem outgrew the tank, he was the main reason I bought my five footer

I will have to look into it how quickly do they grow? And how often do you feed them? Thanks

i use a long pair of feeding tongs, put the food near the tenticals and wiggle it around abit.
it should latch on and start to take the food to its oral disk, let go pretty quick.
NEVER try to force it to eat or ram food into its mouth, a P'd of nem is a nem thats likely to die on you and nuke your tank.

I use a long pippette or turkey baster. As soon as the nem senses the food he grabs it and takes it in. :good:

Sorgans method with the tongs is good, i just dont have any :)

Thanks for all the advice, I think ill look into it a bit more before getting one

That link is a great site, definetely worth a browse if you want an anemone. I would suggest a bubbletip too. As above though, make sure you are willing and capable of adding supplement lighting if you need to. Hope you find what your after.
