must have clean water but so do the anemones.
sometimes get bashed by the clownfish depending on what clownfish you keep
damn expensive to buy depending on where you live

pros
they look great and add interest to the tank
help keep the anemone free of sediment but you don't normally get much gunk anyway.

personally, they are wonderful things to keep if you don't have clownfish in the tank with the anemone.

i have got a 6ft tank (450) with 2 anemones
one for the clowns and one for ...
The empty anemone is a green bubbel anemone
Can i keep a shrimp and a crab in the same anemon

Some big anemones will have shrimp and crabs living together. But they are big anemones (18inch diameter). Bubbletips usually only get to about 10inches diameter and would be ok for a pr of shrimp or a pr of crabs, but probably not for both types of crustacean together. Mind you they aren’t likely to fight, the Periclemines shrimp are very peaceful and porcelain crabs are filter feeders with claws. If they are cheap to buy you could try both species and see how they go. If they are expensive I would just get one species.

Make sure your anemone is at least 6inches in diameter (under normal conditions) before you get the shrimp or crabs. Putting crabs into a small undeveloped anemone can cause the anemone to freak out and wander off.
