Hello To All!
i have been using this forum for about two months and I never got the chance to introduce my-self! Hi I am Charla I have had fish my whole life. I am 18 years old and have 10 tanks 6 of whitch are a decent size (from a thirty to ninety)The rest are all breeder tank ten gallons and Guppies or dwarf Aqutic Frog ponds. The first tank I had was a Ten With my Dwarf Frogs and a betta, it took 4 years but the frogs ate my betta (lesson #1) Then me and my husband went to Wal-Mart (Another Sad story from this awful fish department)We were only there to get filters for my small regent filter cartrige's. So anyways I'm looking at an air pump when I hear my husband (oh my god what are they doing to these poor creatures)and he says we need to take these two healthy but extremely hungry Oscars about half an inch long(still in fry stages)so I opened some fish food I was buying anyways they were dried bloodworms and fed them and asked the lady to bag up the three that were in there, Anyways she youthinized one of our fish without asking and I was mad because I know we could of saved it.so we took them home and put them in our Frog Tank. We knew that would not work for long so we went out to our local pet store(Safari pets) to wheel and deal and came home with a 90 gallon tank on its way from delivery with FX-5 Fluval gravel the whole works set it up and wityhin a week we were breeding Guppies with a 33 we found on the side of the road and a ten I Already had as a spare. The next month or so we found a 10 inch Red Devil at Pet- Cetera(Another Animal nightmare) He was crammed in a ten gallon pond thing with an open top and kids sticking there fingers in his home and he was trying to eat them. We asked What they wanted for him they said $100 we said no way you dont have the room for him why dont you give him to us (it was a nice try but we had to donate $40)still a great deal so we went to a flea market and found another 90 gallon with a magnum 350 and two 802 powerheads for two hundred bucks. we found a great deal on 3 thrity three gallon tanks with Equipment for $120 and now we have another small Red Devil, An Albino Jeweled we traded for java Ferns, And a Parahna. Just recently we found a 55 gallon with no seal for twenty bucks it has been resealed and has gold severums living in it.
