ok... my platies are my babies, i work away from home so dont get to watch them or tend to them haf as much as id like, instead i have 2 leave it too the half hearted bf and hope there ok when i get home and ive not missed anything interesting...
3 of my girls are getting really close and theres no way any fry would survive in my lively community tank, so...
how long do you think is fair to leave her in a breeders net, i recon the soonest is ten days away at most but shes had a few fry before and has stayed a size for a while... is it fair to put her in now??? and what about the others, will she be hapier if their in their considering its a small space and they wll prob eat the fry wont they???

if any one could give me thier oppinion id really appreciate it and it would make my decision LOADS easier.

thanks

Do you have an extra 5-10 gallon tank on hand? If so, you can fill it up half-way with water, don't put gravel in, and let your females drop there.
Breeder nets are really stressful, and I stopped using them after getting a couple stillbirths. I let the females either drop in my 10 gallon, or in the community tank. I have lots of fake and live floating plants, so it's easy for the babies to hide.

If you are going to move your females, (like to another tank.) it will probably be too stressful, because they are so close to birth.

Really, if I were you, I'd leave the females out in the community tank, and place a whole bunch of fake plants that provide good coverage, and a whole bunch of real plants, like java moss, java fern and hornwort in the tank.

Good luck!
