Hey,
I saw a 4 inch very healthy looking Amazon Leaf fish at superpets( lfs) for 20 dollars ( around 10 quid). I was wondering if anyone has heard of them, or kept them, or knows anything about them. The fish room manager said that he would hold it for me cuz he knows me, if i want it. I didnt give him a descriptive awnser as i wasnt sure, becasue i never heard of them. I am googling it, but most everything is in spanish or french or something. I heard they are dead rare, but i was not sure about that either. So, have anyone of you guys kept them, read about them, because i am very interested in them, adn want it, but i dont know much about it. Thanks in advance!

I did, and everything, except maybe 3 or 4 sites came up with something in spanish, or german, or french or something. The other ones werent very detailed, and some just showed a pic.

Thanks, i find it funny, that none of those came up when i typed that in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to Google and check out the 'preferences'.

You may have the search filter set too high (blocking a lot of results) or you may have it set to only search for certain languages. :good:

I love those fish, i just cant seem to get them locally....I really must spend some time and look into mailorder companys ilke wildwoods etc.

Don't know if you know or have read this, but they are VERY hard to get off live food, many people don't manage to get them to eat anything other than live, so be prepared for feeders. (Illegal in the Uk, though I'm not sure how anyone will find out)

They get these in one of my lfs, usually sell for around £12 each. Cant really see the appeal of somthing that looks and acts like a dead leaf all the time but impressive cammo non the less :)

they have them all the time at my LFS. i was asking a guy about them once and he threw in a couple small feeders as he was telling me they do not mix well with small fish.

I would love to have these fish, I would find them so interesnting. Their stalking behaviour, and lightning fast reflexes would keep me occupied for feeding. Though, I',m not 100% comfotable with fish as food, so thats one of reasons I dont have one.

yeah same with me. While i do have a tank of platties where some of the fry are more than likely eaten, i would not be able to bring myself to buy feeder fish, nor would i want the extra mess and cleaning that goes along with feeding live fish.
