I'd like to know how many bolivian rams I could keep in a 20 gallon tank long I already have 8 cory cats in there and are they aggressive fish

You may get away with a single pair, but it may be on the small side considering you already have 8 Cories that will be sharing the same area of your tank.

my lfs told me that... since i already have 8 panda corys and im looking to get bolivian rams what other small fish can i get or is that all the fish i can get

Depends on what Cories you have. What are the dimensions of your tank?

Rams do better in a pair rather than a group. If you want a group then the majority of Apistogramma's are hareem species so you could get away with 2 females to 1 male. Although they are usually more aggressive and territorial than Rams, so bare that in mind.

Have you any other fish at all in the tank? If not then i would recommend some shoaling species such as Harlequin Rasbora's or some of the smaller Tetra's.

no i have only panda corys i was looking into Bolivian rams and dwarf gouramis but i want a pair of fish and then a shoaling like maybe neon tetras or something of that sort just really looking into stocking my tank i dont know the dimension i know that its a 20 gallon tank but instead of tall its long

I've got 7 panda cory and a male ram in a 20g and planning to try a female, few cardinals too.

I would suggest a pair of Bolivians would possibly work then. The Tetra's you suggested would be nice too. May be slightly on the small side though?

how do you tell the difference between female and male bolivian so when i go to the lfs i could pick them out and i guessing 12 neon tetras would be good to get or any other cardinals
