Hi,

Im week three into cycling a tank. I tested for Amonia the other day and I had no reading, the vial remaind white and cloudy. I have tested today and it is yellow and reads between 0.01 and 0.05.

When no Amonia is detected should the solution be white as apposed to a very slight yellow and is that normal for me to discover a zero Amonia level and then a level the next day? Could this be a spike?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Seffie,

Its a Tropic Marin Expert Test Set that I am using. Results have always been under 0.05. Im three weeks into cycling with live rock.

I'm not familiar with that test kit, and I don't know anyone on here that uses it either.

Would you mind posting more of your results from when you put the rock into the tank until now? It will help us get a better understanding.

Hi Nemo,

Ok will do, its one where you put drops into a vial of water and shake. You then match the colour of the solution to the colour chart for your reading.
