Hey guys need help!!!!

Amonia levels gone through the roof......

2 days ago they were at 0.5 ppm...

now they are at 2.0 ppm..

Ive put in amonia lock....

added a filter from a mates setup.. 2 days ago...

so now running a powerhead (under gravel filter).. Fluval internal filter...

I havent tested the nitrite or nitrate levels yet as i cant really see the point....

also added stress ezine..... to no effect..

What do i do now????? I am really fed up and feeling down about this as everything i do doesnt seem to work....

The wife is looking forward to me emptying my set up because she will have be able to turn it into a Vivarium :sly:

Thnx in advance guys.

Hey Reuben,

First thing you need to do is a water change to help dilute the Ammonia levels.

Then we need to address why it happened.

What kind of filtration are you using, and how many and what type of fish do you have?

What is your feeding regimine?

Hi great lakes..

My aquarium is a 40 gallon

Filters used = Internal filter & undergravel / using a powerhead at one end and a air stone at the other...

Fish have had to be removed due to armonia levels.. Gone in to a stable tank..

2 zeb danios - 2 ruby dwarf gourami other fish unfortunately died due to high amonia..

50% water change done, amonia dropped down to 0.5 ppm when tested 5 days ago. water was tested again last night and level back up to 2.0 ppm..

Nitrate = 0
Nitrite = 0 ????? dont know why because thin aquarium has been running for over 7 weeks??? i have no friendly bacteria !!!!! why..

Maybe some one can advise me as to my next step as i am getting really frustraited

Thnx guys,

Reuben
