The bottles all claim things etc. However, I did just see this on on:

It's not so much that these products keep your tank from cycling. It's more a matter of do they speed it up or not. If it doesn't speed the cycling process, then they are just adding to the cost.

Even if you salt cleaned a tank, you will find that when you set it up, a very very small amount of the desired bacteria will be present in it. lets say, 5. but you need 40000 to cycle your tank. so at an exponential rate doubling every 24 hours, it would take 14 days to reach desired level.

Howver, could one of these products genuinely introduce a higher number, say 160, reducing your cycle time to 8 days?

PS all numbers are totally made up and used purely for simplicity.
