This is a 10 gal tank. I had a Ammonia Spike. Today is Day 6, See Picture.
I have a Big sponge filter and a small box filter running and its been 6 days without food. The Ammonia in the pic looks darker than it is. If its still high will do water change and start over again but how long can the fish go without food?

Healthy adult fish can go for weeks without food but if there is ammonia, nitrite or high nitrates in the water, it will kill fish very quickly.

Do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate any day you have an ammonia or nitrite reading above 0ppm, or a nitrate reading above 20ppm.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.
