I can give youa tip though, dont buy female guppies at walmart, they are very weak, I havent bought any up at skeeters though, The ones I own now I bought in Halifax.

Well, I wouldn't ask the people in the pet shop in the mall any questions about fish. The woman I was talking to in there was very rude and wouldn't even let us explain the cycle. We had bought a Java fern from the shop in the mall. When I tested the water the ph was very low and the Nitrate was very high. Higher then my test would read ....
Skeeters, they were pretty good to talk to. Open to new things anyway. We have yet to get a fish. Still working on getting the tank ready .... and by the looks of it, it's going to be longer yet. It seems my little 5.5 gal tank has a leak .... gonna have to get my 15 gal a bit ahead of schedule I guess.

Thats too bad. Hopefully a 15g will work out. I have yet to go to the mall and talk to them, I was thinking about getting a plant from that store though.

Well if you ever want to start out small my pot bellied molly had fry a few days ago, over 20 of them, if you ever wanted to start with those feel free and I'd give you some to start with, I have them in a breeder tank now, but some are still in the 10g tank getting stuck in the filter, so I have more than i need, haha.

You might be able to reseal your tank, if its not cracked with silicone, I did that with an old 20 gallon tank and it held up fine.

Skeeters has a lot of different plants for sale. You may want to check them out if you are planning on getting some plants. We were in talking to the owner of Skeeters today. He seems to be very knowledgeable. He said he has been working with fish for 40 years or so. He showed us the room they have in the back for quarantine the new fish that come in and talked to us about tanks and cycling ect. They seem like a pretty good store to deal with. We got a 15 gal today, but sometime this week we are going to be getting around a 30 gal as well.

Yeah I think I'd prefer to go there, over any other places around here.

We were in at Skeeters today and picked up a 29 gal and a stand. We also picked up some gravel and a pump for our 14 gal tank. I don't think this was just for us cause we were getting a lot of things but we were told they were having a sale the rest of this week. Everything in the store 25% off. I guess they are doing inventory this weekend and having a sale to help move things so they have less to count.

Oh really? thats great, I'll have to stop in, I dont need a tank and filter so much but I do need ammonium filter and some testers, who knows I may be able to get a deal! Thanks for the heads up and good luck with your new tank!
