ammonia in uk

Hi everyone,

im looking at setting up my first tank soon and was just wondering where i can get ammonia for a fishless cycle in the uk?

Theres a couple of products on the market that will get the tank cycling but the two I have used are:

Stresszyme..Does the job

Cycle..Not impressed but thats my own opinion

both of these products are available at most aquatic stores..pets at home sells them quite cheap.

I'm sure there are many others use.

You can buy pure ammonia form a chemist or a hardware store, also you can use frozen prawns.

There are loads of posts on this subject. Get a non-soapy, non-perfumed ammonia cleaning solution. Dirt cheap but you may have to look in small independent hardware or household shops. Wouldn't recommend any of the commercial products as their value is doubtful and their cost relatively high.
