if i am not mistaken (others correct me if i'm wrong) shrimp need to be in large groups (like 6+) and still then they will hide. i have heard rumors that they tend to come out more at night. i don't know how true that is but it's what i have been told.

Hi Number 1 Jasper. I bought 2 amano shrimps last week and posted a similar thread cos I didn't see them for a few days. Now I see them most days wondering round when my lights are on, they even try to pinch the food off my corys! Added another 2 today. They are quite fascinating once they get use to the tank and start to show themselves.![]()
We have red cherry shrimp in 3 of our tanks and in each and every tank they behave differently!!The ones in my sons tank tend to only hide when they are sulkingIf we take longer than normal on a water change or move anything around, add new plants or such like then they disappear for a few days and 'sulk' all the others in the other tanks are pretty much always out and about be it at night with lights off or during the day. I am sure once your shrimp get used to the tank they will come out more and when they realise what is happening at feeding time - just you watch!!!But have plenty of time on hand because if you are anything like I am you will be glued to the tank once they are out
