I have a 75 gallon tank and currently have a fire eel, 3 bichirs, a needlenose gar, clown knife fish, tinfoil barb, leaf fish, bala shark, 2 monos, 2 silver dollars, pleco, a red chalceus, and an angelfish. Am i overstocked? I plan on selling most of these fish when they get really big.

I work on a formula of 1cm of body to 1 liter of water based roughly on adult size and have never had a problem. Would be interesting to see others opinions

It's not overstocked, but IMO it's poorly stocked.

What's the dimensions of your tank?

I agree with Man of Fish unfortunately

Its 48x18x28. And what do you mean its poorly stocked? I actually am trying to get rid of my angelfish, monos, and my silver dollars. I wanted to get more carnivorous fish.

its poorly stocked int he sense the fish shouldnt be kept together and so on

Fire eel- terrible choice IMO for what you've got.
Bichirs- should be fine I think
Gar- gets waaaayyyyyyy too big for this tank
Clown knife- I think it's fine......
Tinfoil barb- needs groups 6+ I think and I believe gets pretty big?
Leaf fish- I don't know. Doesn't sound ideal though.
Bala shark- these need HUGE tanks and very big groups. Were talking a 9x3x3 minimum and 10+.
Monos-get too big
Silver dollars- need groups of 6+

Pleco- we need a pic. Hopefully it's not a common....
Red chalceus- no idea bout this
Angel- would be fine, but tankmates are unsuitable.

In short the tank is way too small and the tankmates aren't suitable.

Fire eel- terrible choice IMO for what you've got. Also, grows too large.
Bichirs- should be fine, depending on the species
Gar- gets waaaayyyyyyy too big for this tank
Clown knife- gets waaaaaayyyyyyyyy too big for this tank
Tinfoil barb- prefers groups, gets really big (14", but bulky)
Leaf fish- what species? Probably gets very little food with those tankmates
Bala shark- prefers groups, gets big and fast, too big and fast for this tank
Monos- brackish to full saltwater when adult
Silver dollars- prefer groups
Pleco- species?
Red chalceus- grows to 10", is rather nervous and fast. Potentially borderline ok
Angel- would be fine, but tankmates are unsuitable.

mof - I used your scheme, hope you don't mind :).

No problem prankster. Glad I got most of those right tbh :)
