I've read a lot of articles & forum posts about stocking, but the more I read the more questions I have (the more you know the less you know, sometimes....)

I have a 60 gallon tank, and this is my first. All of the fish seem active and in good health, from what I can tell. This is what I have so far -- I'd really appreciate your input:

3 Tetras
1 Dwarf Gourami
3 Mollies
1 Platy
1 Plecostomus
4 Peppered Cory Catfish
1 Emerald Catfish
1 Tuxedo Guppy
1 Zebra Danio

Thanks a lot for your help.

I think you can still complete your schools (the tetras, cories, and danios need 6+ of their own kind).
That being said I would remove the zebra danio since it requires cooler temps than the rest of the fish.

What type of pleco do you have? if you don't know you can post a picture and someone should be able to ID it for you :)

Thanks for the advice, I'll work on finishing the schools. What temp would be good for the danio?

The pleco is a rubber lip.

I agree I would remove the Danio as you would also be better keeping the other fish in bigger schools rather than having an other species. Danios generally like to be in the cooler regions of the tropical spectrum. Good news in it being a Rubber Lip, I always panic when I just see 1x plec in a four foot tank as you just hate telling people to rehome fish...

I would look at a stocking like this.

3 Dwarf Gourami (1male, 2 female)
3 Mollies
1 Platy
1 Tuxedo Guppy
12 Tetras (which species?)
1 Rubber Lip Plecostomus
10 Peppered Cory Catfish  OR  8 Emerald Catfish (dont think you will be able to keep both species.... the Emeralds get significantly bigger than the Peppers)

For stocking rules, inch of adult fish per gallon is a very rough guide to use but depending on what kind of fish in the tank can throw it up or down. You have mainly have small fish so around 60 inches is quite good for the tank.
