Allergic To The Tank

Do you have a reaction everytime you deal with the tank, or is it just sometimes?

I've had a reaction three different times but I'm not sure if I had washed my hands after working with the tank...the first couple of times I thought that I had just put something in my eye....one of my hobbies is metal fabrication on 4x4's and I grind alot....now I watch really carefully and haven't had any problems. I haven't taken my allergy pills in the last few days and no problems.

I got a reaction from my tanks as well. I finally figured out that it was the freeze dried bloodworms. If I don't wash my hands really well after handling them and then touch my face, my eyes and lips swell up and my throat gets itchy. But...I refuse to give up my bettas!

Hi,

The fish food I use contains citric acid. If you touch your eye it will cause irritation. I now wash my hands thoroughly after I feed my fish and haven't had any problems since.
