Age and condition: About 7 months old, in good working order. This heater is thermostatically controlled, but the knob just has + and - rather than actual temperatures. It kept a 5 gall at a steady 28C set just under maximum.

Age and condition: About 5 months old, in good working order. There's a slightly melted area on the guard where I took it out of the water before it had fully cooled. The heater is perfect inside though. The black guard is great for disguising the heater, you can hardly see it with a black background
