All my Plecs have died

Any initial thoughts on this.

I have a 32g tank which has been set up for about 18 months,
Over the past couple of days i have lost all of my plecs (a bristlenose, a small albino and 1 which i could never identify).
They didn't have any obvious signs of illness and were acting fine.
All the other fish in my tanks still seem ok and have no outward signs of illness.

I will check out my water condition tomorrow but i haven't done anything i don't usually do with regards to water changes or introducing new fish.

I'm stuck

Sorry about the plecs Maybe the water tests might give some clues.

It could be a number of things... low O2 effects the bottom dwellers first - as does high ammonia... Do a water change.

Hi all thanks for your comments.

Low Oxygen was my initial thought, I have an airstone and undergravel filters running so the water is well curculated, plus i have 3 Corys and 3 Dorads which all seem fine.

The water is fine today and all the other fish are still ok.

Hi, sorry for your loss. But three plecs in a 32 gal is to much. You only need one for a tank that size. Food source is a big one, are you supplementing with anything else? THey will definatley starve in a tank of that size if you are not adding anything else for them to eat.

If all your test check fine then I would just replace the ones you lost with just one plec. My advice would be a bristlenose. They do not get that big and are a great addition to your aquarium. I have had mine for over two years now in my 25 gal. I don't supplement with extra feedings but he does come out and snatch up the extra flakes it there are any.

If you had a 100gal tank then the three of them would be okay. But a 32 is just not big enough for the three of them. They can also be quite protective of their area too.
