We stuck a couple of the rosy reds in the new tank last night and after a couple of hours of watching them swim around happily thinking they were free at last, we wrecked thier new found and short lived happiness by moving my Green Severum Cuelo, jewel Aphroditite, and our new jack Hercules in to their new digs.
It took them all less than 5 minutes to calm down from the move. Aphroditite I think had decided she was no longer going to just hide in the back of the tank as she did in the 55 and was chasing both the others most of the evening. Cuelo, apparently not so sure what to think about this would act like he was going to brace her and then we would see him swimming in reverse retreating from her. Hercules, man he is a beautiful fish! he just seemed to not want to be bothered with Aphroditite either. He was far to interested in flaring at that damned jack in the reflection on the tank or swimming up to the front of the tank for further people inspection. It was really entertaining to watch and my husband is soooo happy that he finally has the JD he always wanted and he can actually see him!

The Rosy Reds were both dead this morning........... Looked like they'd had one hell of a run in with a meat grinder!!!! Bwaaahahahahahahahahahaha

LOL you know your cichlids had a good night if you find dead dither fish in the morning.

Tell me about it! We put 5 rosy barbs in yesterday. Within an hour we were already down to 4 and this morning there are 3. I think the JD likes a tasty little midnight snack!

I had to use giant danios for my dithers. I started with 8 and am down to 4. These 4 are really big and my GT and JD are just a bit to small to take em down........for now. Muwahahaha
