A quick dip and you get a reading for various parameters. Are these accurate enough or is the API test kit worth the increase in time and money?

If the test strips are kept dry and properly stored, they're great. But they are expensive on a per test basis.

The API master test kit isn't very good, as to get the info you get from a good test strip, you need extra testing kits. It's a very limited product. But if all you want to test for is the ammonia cycle, it's much cheaper in the long run, despite the initial outlay.

Many, if not most, 5 or 6 in one strips do not test for ammonia so strips for that need to be purchased as well.

I find the API dip sticks as well as others can not reliably differentiate between 0-10 ppm on the nitrate scale
