Hi all,

Not been here for years and haven’t had fish for quite a while. Life got a little busy and couldn’t give the tank the time it needed, so packed it in at that point.

Got more time now, and a little boy who wants his own fish tank, so it’s something I can do with him. So I’m looking for a small fish tank with filter, lighting and heater all in one. However, I want it to have a decent filter which will limit the options no doubt. Nothing too large, so perhaps 60 litres give or take..

I’m a bit out of touch, so keen to get some suggestions please. I’m based in the UK, so has to be available here.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Hi wow 2005! Proper old school! Welcome back :)

For an all in one tank Fluval Flex's are pretty good and come in a few different sizes. The other one to look at would be Waterbox but they are more expensive.

Superfish Cubiq Pro 60s are reportedly quite nice and work well (so I'm told) but I've never personally owned one so can't give a guarantee.

Aquael do a range of budget friendly tanks in the 60-80 litre range. They're called Aquael Leddy Day and Night. Again, I haven't owned one but I have several Aquael filters and heaters and have always found them good quality and reliable.

Ever so slightly bigger would be a Marina Vue 87 (87l). Marina are the budget range of Hagen, which makes Fluval. I have one in use as a fry grow-out/quarantine tank and it does the job (although I replaced the filter as I didn't like it, but replacing a filter for that size tank doesn't cost much).

Ciano's all in one's are decent enough...I have had 4 of them over the years, currently one of my aquariums is a Ciano Aqua 80 (72 litre)...avoid the newer variants with the CFBIO150 filters as they are small fish/fry killers

The Aqua 80 is under £105 complete with filter, heater and light.....the stand that goes with it is under £40....more than adequate setup if space is limited

My other four aquariums are Aquael Hexaset 60's.....around £125 for the aquarium, comes with drip filtration, heater and light, the stand is under £55

Depends on your budget but I can vouch for the fluval flex too, great built in filtration and lighting.

Juwel make good quality tanks too so I'd recommend their Koral 60.

Superfish tanks are ok too, I had a home series which they do in a 60 litre option now which was good but not as good as the Juwel or Fluval flex

Hi, I’m in the uk.I can recommend the Marina vue (fluval)60L.It has curved seemless front comes with Leds .I did change the filter but that was my choice.

I have a superfish 100 and it is very good.
It comes with a decent light a powerful internal filter and a good heater.
It's 100liters which is more than you said but it's still very good
