All Four of My Loachys!

Ok, so maybe not by popular request, but kevin asked, and silver said she likes to live through my pictures, so I figured heck why not. I love my Loachys more than anything and I love taking pics of the little buggers.

Currently, my Loachy collection includes Clowns, Kuhlis, Yo-yos, and (the newest additions) Skunks. I love each and every one of them, and someday I hope to own one of every Loach that I can possibly find. I think they are just the greatest little fish.

Anyways, without furthar ado, on with the piccys!

 

[Arashi]

We'll start off with the Clown Loaches, partly because they are my favorite and partly because they were begging...no not to have their pics put up first, but they wanted dinner. The little piggys. They do this every night...they sit on their little piece of slate, in a row, and stare at me...and they will do it for hours, until I finally feed them. It's so adorable.

"We're hungry! Feed us!"

"Hey...you... You gonna send some food down yet?"

"Ok...how about if we bunch closer together?"

"Alright then...how about tricks? You like tricks? Look I can stand on one fin."

"High five maybe?"

"Give us food now or else we'll eat your soul!"

 

[Arashi]

Next, the Kuhlis. These little guys are nutty...nuff said. They swim in circles for hours on end, twist around plant stems, and sleep in a tangled heap.

"I'm dead."

 

[Arashi]

Not many of the Yo-yos I'm afraid. They were hiding.

"Hey buddy! Times up! I get the dark cave now!" (yes the red thing in the pic is a Clown Loach tail)

And finally the Skunks! They're so cute!

"Look at me, I'm blending in!"

"Shhh! I'm hiding!"

"Strike a pose!"

I love the clown loach pics best-- great subtitles arashi. "We're going to eat your soul!!!"

I wish my zebra loach was as up-front as your clowns, if I get even close to the tank he dashes off.

Kuhlies rockkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! I love your kuhlies arashi! My kuhlies are just hanging on a leaf right now and arashi just broke the stem of my water wisteria cuz she's gotten a lot bigger now

tear-scar - Well, they looked evil with their little shining devil eyes! So you have Zebra Loaches huh? I'd love to see pics if you could get some. My Clowns are extremely friendly, and almost never swim away when I come near the tank. I just can't wait till I can get a bigger tank and get the school of 7 that I want...thats gonna be so entertaining.

kevin007 - You can nominate group shots. But if you want individual shots too, I'm more than happy to oblige.

Kuhlis do rock. I love them lots-- good little helpers too-- keep my plants poop-free.


I had a bunch of my friends who knew nothing about fish with me when I bought them--

As a coutesy to the shop, I decided to catch my own. It took me 15 minutes to catch 4, all the while my friends were watching and laughing as the little loaches made a fool of me.

If only I had ONE species of loaches!! HMPH!!!

But yours are sooooo cute!!! I see a tinge of yellow........do you have bogwood?? My 55 gallon pictures come out exactly like that and it's really yellow water from the 2 bogwoods and I have peat in the filter along with sponge filled with charcoal that I know is no longer working )
