Can someone please give me some advice!

Just noticed that all my fish are all at one corner of my tank not swimming around much!

I cleaned my tank out on Friday and tested my water on Sunday and everything was fine!

I have never noticed this before so any advice would be great

Thanks

What are the stats now? And did you add you use de-chlorinator when you changed the water? And what did you clean the tank with? Did you do anything to the filter at all?

Hows the tanks temperature? if its too warm the fish will stay at the coolest point in the tank, or is the temperature to cold and they are hovering around the heater to maintain warmth.

How much water did you replace and often do you replace the water? If it is old water (i.e. not been replaced for well above 1 week) it could be the differential PH and KH stats between the old and new water which has induced stress on the fish.

As already suggested, other causes may relate to temperature, forgetting to dechlorinate or unhealthy water.

Thanks for all your reply's.

After i posted it i looked it the heater in the tank and think i may be raised the temp accidently while cleaning so i lowered it back to its normal temp 24-26 degrees C and this morning they were all swimming around again normally so hopefully it was that :good:

However i will still answers your questions incase they do it again.

The stats were PH 5-6 i know it is low but i have tested my tap water and its at that level, i have tried adding PH booster but the water just goes back down to that PH. However i have heard PH is not that major as different fish like different PH levels.
Ammonia is 0
Nitrite is 0
Nitrate is 30-35

I always clean 20% of my tank every 2 weeks adding tap safe into the new water before adding it to my tank and i clean the tank with a gravel cleaner and one of those sponges on a handle sorry dont know what they are called. Like i say i have been cleaning the tank like this for many months and never had any problems so hopefully i have just knocked heater slightly.

Any more advice would be great :)

Thanks

Do you have a thermometer in your tank? If you don't buy two. Place one on the side of the tank where your fish are and place the other on the opposite side. If the temperature is greater than 2 degrees that could possibly be the problem.
