i don't hate algae, it's a plant in it's own right and does add to the tank. my Platties enjoy harvesting it, my Kuhliis enjoy playing in it, so i enjoy looking at it. it is quite interesting to see my broad-leafed, powerful looking plant covered in a layer of slime algae with a Kuhlii sliding in it and a Plattie swimming nose-down over it trying to pick out the best piece.

but sometimes algae gets ugly and grows on gravel, glass, decorations, or fish. yep, i've got the first three, plus algae growing on snails!

if you go under pictures i'll post a picture of how i want my tank looking like, and these are the same fish i'm getting too, they love the slimy algae!!!
