algee eaters

i am looking for a really good algee eater. I currently have 4 otto catfish, is there anything else i can get

Hi Sarkis,

I would always go for a bristlenose catfish.

I have one, (Harry the hoover) and he lives up to his name. He is also very comical. I also have Otto and they are compatible no problem.

The other advantage to the bristlenose is they do not grow too big (up to 5"). I would recommend however if you do go for bristlenose that you only get one, although they get on with Otto if you have more that one of his own kind they are ok as babies but when they get bigger they will fight over territory.

If you can get hold of any I'd strongly recommend Siameses Algae Eaters. Be careful though, they're often sold under different names.

shrimp will get along with the fish i have.

do you know of an algae eater that will eat brown, almost rust coloured algae? I have alot of that in my tank
