Okay, yeah defiantly try to get that fixed, as you want as much light as possible for algae growth.

yeah 1 15w tube on a 15g is really low lighting im supprised and plants are growing

get a plant leaf, destroy it, and let it rot in the aquarium. It will be covered in algae in no time.
