Well, I'm getting some pretty good algea growth in my betta tank. I'm thinking about getting a snail for it. What kind and is there any special care? Or a link to a good website that has info on any suggested snails?

Thanks

Gabe

You could probably instead of snail get either an algea eater or wipe off the algea, because I have found that snail don't eat enough algea to make a difference.

snails do a good job in our grow out tank, they breed like crazy though ;)

If you want a good algae eating snail that wont reproduce too fast, you want to get a Zebra Snail, Neritina natalensis. They are only about 2cm big and wont get much babies. And they really eat algae, they are amazing.

Ok, thanks for the advice. It's not the algea on the walls of the tank though that really bothers me, it's the algea on the gravel. Will they eat the algea on the gravel too?
