Hi all

My tank has finally finished cycling water chemistry is spot on, am planning on leaving the tank for a while but i'm after a nice catfish that eats algea.

Ive gone off most plecs 'cos they grow huge, my tanks about 4 foot long holding 180 litres, also gone of some of the loaches after they turned my tank into a builiding site by making holes in the gravel.

I really like corydoras got a couple in my tank upstairs but i dont think they eat algea.

Any ideas would be great

cheers
Dave

Many of the L number plecos stay to a reasonable size and come in many different stunning colours and patterns but on the down side most only eat algea as a dietry supplement and need to fed meaty foods as well.

If you are looking for a fish specificly for its algea eating capabilities then as TAA suggests ottos or bristlenoses are the best choice although not particularly known for being very pretty.

Dont get me wrong i love my bristlenoses and they do a great job of cleaning my tanks but they by no means match the stunning looks of zebra plecs and the other L number plecos.
