Algae wafers

Would algae wafers be a good source of roughage for a betta?

Well, i don't intentionally give them to my girls, but I drop them in my female tank for my snail - and one of my betta girls LOVES to eat them until Gary comes along and chases her away from "his" wafer, so I don't think it would do them any harm....?

Good ol' Gary. It's hilarious how even a crustacean can have so much personality! I don't think it would be too harmful, but could this be a good source of roughage for bettas who dont like peas?
