Algae Shrimp

do they do better in groups?

Yes, much better. Actually, with the exception of long arm shrimp, all shrimp much prefer to be kept in groups. Certainly any kind of algae eating shrimp will be much more active and interesting to watch in a group. Just a single shrimp will spend most of it's time hiding.

My amanos almost behave like a tribe. If anything scares them (like me cleaning the filter), they all like to huddle together.

he is actual more active than i thought it would be, looking for the best algae spot in the tank, but if they prefer groups, then a group he shall have :good:

any tips of getting good pics of these guys?

Strategically place a piece of algae wafer or a flake or something he likes to eat in a nice picturesque spot and he'll stay still while eating so you can get the right focusing.

I find that I need to take about 20 pictures for every one that looks 1/2 way decent. Thank God for digital cameras. They must have used lots of film in the old days.

the problem with that is, he grabs the food then runs to his hole before the other fish notice the food is out

will try again, but batteries dead, will get some more tomorrow and post the results :good: thanks everyone :D

was on the road to a good pic when he decided his back end looked better
