Hey everyone,

I've had my two Black Moors for about 4 months now. Everything has been going great. Their growing very quickly and their just awesome fish. I do have one problem though. I did a full water change about 2 weeks ago because the algae practically took over my tank. There were brown spots on the inside walls of the glass so I had to clean it. My fish reacted fine to the new water. I put treatment and conditioner in there and they were great. But now I have brown spots forming on the stones and I just cleaned the tank. Should I get algae treatment? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Becky

How long do you leave your lights on? Is the tank near a window? I have my lights on all my tanks for 12 hours a day (planted) My algae isn't bad at all. Before you use any algae treatment try to find the reason for the algae. Some algae treatments will kill off all the algae but if you don't get it out of the tank it can cause problems.
I had two goldfish a few years ago and I would get almost red algae no matter what I did.

I leave my light on for about the same amount of time. The tank isn't near a window either. Thanks for the info :good:

turn your lights on and after 5 hours turn them off for about 4-5 hours it can help with the control of algae and as its free you have nothi :good: ng to lose
