Algae Problem

I found some stuff at Wal-Mart... I can't remember what it's called, but it works wonders! It's in a white bottle with a yellow lid, and it's meant to both get rid of and prevent algea. I was nervous about it at first, but it did not harm my fish, and the algea was gone within a week. I think it's simply called "Algea Destroyer" but I'm not positive on that.

If its hair algae then some amano shrimp should clear it I just put some in my corrie tank that has a betta and 2 ottos in and they are eating the algae that the ottos dont touch.

Yeah, I use all silk plants. It probably would not be a good thing for live plants.

If this is a common plec in a small tank i advise you get rid of him now, did you know theese fish grow easily to 13"? Keeping him in a tiny tank is cruelty :/

Its a 30 gallon tank, and I think its a sailfin Pleko, but I'm not sure. right now he's about... 3 1/2 inches long and we've had him for almost 4 months now with him only growing that 1/2 inch. plus, if he does get too big, we can put him back in the 55 gallon tank with my fiance's Oscar.
