will take few pictures later.

Ok. I bought some Phoslock at the LFS and have put it in today. Will see how it works.

your dkh is low... might wanna pm SkiFletch about a dosing link, he is always a great help!
a high dkh will keep ur ph more stable

Ok. A little update. I have had a few conversations with Ski and he has helped me get a few things straight. My tank perameters are better. I have some phosphate remover, it is not Rowaphos, but I have It coming. I have a sump for a 75 gal tank with bio balls and a Emperor 400. I have Chemi-pure in the sump and the Phos-x in the Emperor media box. I still have algae. It has cleared up some, but is still hanging around. What is the best way to use the Rowaphos when I get it.

New Perameters:

Cal-375
dkh-6.3
PH -8.3

I can't test for phosphate because the LFS has been out.

Thanks again

OK. I have put in the Rowaphos as of yesterday. Did a 10 gal water change this morning. I already saw some improvement with the phosban, should only get better with the rowaphos.

Ok, I did some tests to see how things are progressing.
ph-8.2
nitrate-0
P04-0
dkh-5.8
cal-345

Had some brown algae on the glass, pretty significant amount. I going to try and attach some pics.

Hi guys, sorry to hijack your thread but I also have a slight Algae problem.

My turbo snails and Hermies are doing a great job with the live rock but they never venture onto the sand which is now covered in Diatoms (Brown Algae)

Which invert would be best to tackle this, I was thinking either sand sifter or a orange sea star or Nassarius snails ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Starfish are exceptionally dependent on the substrate for feeding, thus you need a big enough tank... How big is yours?

Ok. Here are a few pictures. Maybe you can see my dilema.

I feed mostly pelletized food. I feed some frozen shrimp, but I strain it.
I have been concerned with flowrate. I have one 1200 rio. A 400 Rio. I have two small powerheads, one is a 150 and the other is a 300. I have a 1700 in the sump. A bak-pak cpr skimmer and the emperor 400.
