If i was to put corys on with my new guppy fry would the corys eat the fry? Was just a thought to aid gravel cleaning etc

Any ideas??

I wouldn't think so. I found one surviving platy fry in my tank and he was hiding out in the slate cave with my cories (sodalis, bronze and ambiacus) they didn't bother him. They just seem to mind their own business. If they did eat a fry I don't think it would be intentional. I know the rest would have been eaten by my swords/platies.

Ok thanks the tanks just all guppy fry oldest is about 3 weeks old and the youngest is about 24 hours lol sooooo small!

They should be fine.
My corys don't even bother the tiniest shrimp, they're a very peaceful species

Yeah, same as above. I wouldn't think they bother any fry unless they are super tiny, buried the gravel and crippled to the point they won't move half an inch.

Hi magical trevor :)

Mature corys will be fine with livebearer fry as long as they are swimming off the bottom. Corys cannot even tell the difference between food and their own fry. I've been told that guppy fry tend to go to the bottom at first so it might not be good to keep them in a breeding tank but after they are past that point, all should be fine.

Let me also mention that corys have certain requirements of their own so they will thrive. While they will probably eat excessive food that falls to the bottom, they need a diet somewhat higher in protein than most flake. For this, frozen bloodworms (UK or US) or live blackworms (US) are excellent and your fry will like them too.

Also, keep the bottom clean for them. If you have sand, give it a stir when cleaning the tank. If you have fine gravel, vacuum it well when you do water changes. If you have coarse gravel, forget about adding any corys.
