ok so yesterday i installed a strip of blue led lights in the lid of my albino cory tank. for the first 5 mins everything was normal, then absolute mayhem started. corys jumping and zooming everywhere, splashing at the surface diving up and down and all around the tank in a sort of frenzy. my first instinct was they were being electrocuted so pulled the plug.
checked everything, nothing was touching the water (its supposed to be waterproof anyway!) plugged it back in. stillness for ten mins then the mayhem started again.
could the led lights be hurting there eyes in some way or causing some sort of seizure?
will try and get a video tonight but i just found it so strange, im reluctant to put the light back on.

its like mating behaviour (chasing zooming up and down the tank etc) but on a much more frenzied scale.

anyone experienced anything like this before??

This isn't one of those from Ebay is it?

I've ordered one and will be getting Corys :(

Hope I don't have the same problem and am sorry you are too :( ... sounds weird

I've had the LED moonlight strips from ebay in both my tanks for several months now (including one falling right into the water - oops) and haven't noticed any odd behaviour from my corys (albino, peppered and pygmy).

i removed the lighting in the end as it drove them mental. only thing i can think of is stray voltage, but as no parts touch the water i cant see that being it?

If that is the case try a different transformer. However this is very unlikely!

Oh as I wrote that and re-read your title I just thought Corries are bottom feeders and red light penetrates further than any other colour which would mean that corys are possibly more sensitive to red, especially albinos so maybe light is too bright... Maybe try blue leds instead?
