I was wondering, would either a few albino cory catfish or panda cory catfish be ok in a 5 gallon tank? If so, how many of them? I I've had albino cory catfish before and I loved having them. So I'm thinking of possibly getting more....All I need to do is clue my mom in on my plans. :D

Panda's I'd say yes, they don't grow as large as most cories, but there exspencive, well they are here, I have one albie and one panda in my tank, and they seem happy by them self. The albie is acherly nearly a year old, and he never realy had more than one cory friend.

I'd say if you can aford it, get about 4 panda's.

Though is depends on what else is in there.

especially as pandas are so sensitive and 5 gallons isnt really enough to provide a stable environment for them.

no they need to bein largeish groups theres enought room for 1 but they need to be in groups

Ok, thank you everyone. No catfish for me. Maybe I'll just get a larger tank.... :D

Hi Chrissy :)

A bigger tank is always the answer!

If you do get one, definately get some corys. They are great little fish and you will like them, I'm sure!

I would love to get a bigger tank, but its not an option. My room is crowded enough with my guinea pig cage, bird cage, my betta tank, and all of my junk.

Maybe someday....

The thing is, I don't have to get cories now. I want to wait until I can give them a home that they will enjoy, I don't want to cram them into the 5 gallon tank, no matter how cute I think they are.

I think I'll just go to Petsmart and 'look' at tanks and fish. And just 'see' how much they are....

I like your attitude, very responsible. :)

Maybe if you could squich in a slightly bigger tnak, say 10 - 15g, you could get some smallish cories. either pymgies, or some type which doesn't exceed 2". They're great fish, lots of fun to watch. :)

Thank you!

For now, I think I'm just going to have my uncle, who has two albino corys, e-mail me some pictures of them. Maybe I'll cut out the fish and tape them to the tank... :p The catfish actually used to be mine, around 5 years ago my dad let me pick out some fish for our fish tank. I was seven and my dad and I didn't know any better, so we wound up with a common pleco, 3 albino cory catfish, and then 2 carnival goldfish in a 5 gallon tank. Now, the 2 catfish that are still alive and the pleco live in my uncle's 75 gallon community tank. I look back and I wish my dad or I had found this forum or atleast a good book so we could have realised what we were doing to those fish. Atleast those 3 are able to live the rest of their lives out in a great tank.

I don't have enough wall space in my room for another tank. I need to clean my room, get rid of some stuff, like my desk...I never use it anyways... :D

Well, anyways thank you for all of your help. I can assure you that when I can afford and have space for a larger tank I will be back with more questions!

I could be wrong but if yur tank is empty right now u could do Albino Pygmy cories
