hi i got 3 albino cories about 3 weeks ago and when i first put them in the tank they were swimming happily all over teh palce across the glass but now they seem to just sit on the sand

when feeding time comes they hover the floor lookin for food but after that just sit there again

some times they move a little but most of the time they just sit behind the plants
and they are more shy

ph is 6.8 ammonia 0 nitrite 0

do they need more friends?

i have a 20gallon tank and currently there are 6 black neon tetras 4 mickey mouse platy and 3 albinos

do you think i could get 1 or 2 more albinos?

My mum's tank has 2 albino corys and they do fine. They swim around quite a bit. I have one peppered corydora in my tank and he sit's still occasionally but not all the time. So I would say it's not that they need more company. Maybe they just need to settle in.

Corys tend to be very active when you first get them, probably exploring their new homes. Eventually they do settle down, becoming some what shy. If they begin to breed, they get very active, swimming up and down for ages. We have 5 bronze, 5 panda and 4 sterbai and all went through the same when we got them. We did get them all at different times, and the behaviour was the same each time, like 2 bronzes, then the others, 3 pandas then the other 2 and the same with the sterbai. All of our corys spend most of the day hiding in the plants, unless they are about to spawn. As long as they are eating, occasionally swimming around and are in good health, there should be no need to worry. :D

Same experience with my peppereds too.

Hi LEDit0ut :)

Albino C. aeneus are normally less active during the day than in the evening or early morning. Do yours school more at those times?

If the water is too warm, it will also slow them down. I don't see a nitrate reading, but for corys, the lower it is the better.
